Enoggera

Supposedly called ‘Euoggera’, but thanks to a clerical error, it was named Enoggera instead. It is a name much easier to say for a suburb that’s very easy to live in. It houses Australia’s largest military base and is one of the oldest suburbs in Brisbane.

Enoggera has a population of 5,034 (2011 census), 3000 of whom live in the Enoggera Army base. The suburb boasts of picturesque post-war homes, which families and young professionals love. It has easy access to the CBD and has convenient public transport options.

Strategically located at the centre of the inner-north, Enoggera is cut across by Wardell Street in the north-south and Samford Road in the east-west. The suburb’s architecture is somewhat akin to its neighbors – The Gap and Ashgrove – with its spacious backyard and spacious verandahs.

Now sought after for it’s beauty and easy accessibility, Enoggera has remained largely unexplored. It still has a lot of hidden secrets yet to be discovered while continuing to draw more and more prospective residents who seek a much quieter and convenient lifestyle.
