Mitchelton, one of the northern suburbs of Brisbane, is situated 8 kilometres from the CBD while some areas are 6 kilometres from the CBD. The suburb is bounded by Keperra, Enoggera, Arana Hills and Everton Park, with Samford Road leading to the CBD running through the center of the suburb.

The suburb is quite leafy and characterised by a number of Queenslanders. Its surface is mostly hilly and the majority of the suburb is on a north-facing slope. As one of Brisbane’s growing suburbs with shopping centres, easy commuting access and a good selection of amenities has turned the suburb into one of Brisbane’s high-demand market.

School

Mitchelton residents have a wide range of school choices, making it a great place for families with kids. Schools include two of its state schools: Mitchelton State Primary School and Mitchelton State High School. Other choices are Mitchelton Special School, Mt Maria College and Our Lady of Dolours Primary School.

Clubs and Sports

Aside from schools, the suburb is now littered by various shops and boutiques. The Brookside Shopping Centre is surrounded by a selection of shops and restaurants. A range of shops lining along Samford Road near the Mitchelton Library and the Gaythorne Bowls club nearby.
There is a nearby park for families, with bike trails for residents to enjoy. The Mitchelton Football Club is located northeast of the Brookside Shopping Centre. Although it is no longer part of the suburb, it is fairly close by and is easy to access.
