Moorooka lies 7 kilometres from the CBD and is one of the southern suburbs of Brisbane. The suburb is surrounded by Yeerongpilly, Salisbury and Tarragindi. Major intersecting roads are located at the southern part of the suburb.
The suburb is undergoing a major renovation, slowly transforming from an industrial suburb to a comfortable residential neighbourhood. It is slowly gaining popularity after the influx of new residents due to its renovation.

Train – The suburb is serviced by its very own Moorooka station and connects the suburb to the CBD and multiple areas connected to the railway line. The rail line marks the western border of the suburb and adjoins the Beenleigh and the Gold Coast lines. The train runs every 15 minutes.
Bus – Residents who opt to commute by bus is spoilt with different bus routes, with most buses running on Beaudesert Road. Bus 110, 115, 116, 117, 124 and 125 stops at the shopping strip of Moorooka and a couple of buses passes through the ‘Magic Mile’.
There are two primary schools at Moorooka: St Brendan’s Catholic Primary and Moorooka State School, which cater to students from Prep to Year 6. There are several high schools nearby and the university is just a few kilometres from the suburb.

There are numerous parks around Moorooka for families to enjoy under the sun. The suburb also has a massive Woolworths accompanied by multiple boutiques, shops and restaurants along Beaudesert Road and a pharmacy nearby. The famed ‘Magic Mile’ – a long strip of car dealers – is located along Ipswich Road.
